\nNarrated Hudhaifa:\n \n\nThe Prophet (ﷺ) said to the people of Nijran, "I will send you the most trustworthy man." (Every one of) \nthe companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) was looking forward (to be that person). He then sent Abu 'Ubaida.\n

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ صِلَةَ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ ‏\n"‏ لأَبْعَثَنَّ ـ يَعْنِي عَلَيْكُمْ ـ يَعْنِي أَمِينًا ـ حَقَّ أَمِينٍ ‏"‏‏.‏ فَأَشْرَفَ أَصْحَابُهُ، فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ رضى الله عنه‏.‏
