Narrated Dihyah ibn Khalifah al-Kalbi: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was brought some pieces of fine Egyptian linen and he gave me one and said: Divide it into two; cut one of the pieces into a shirt and give the other to your wife for veil. حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ دِحْيَةَ بْنِ خَلِيفَةَ الْكَلْبِيِّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِقَبَاطِيَّ فَأَعْطَانِي مِنْهَا قُبْطِيَّةً فَقَالَ ‏"‏ اصْدَعْهَا صَدْعَيْنِ فَاقْطَعْ أَحَدَهُمَا قَمِيصًا وَأَعْطِ الآخَرَ امْرَأَتَكَ تَخْتَمِرُ بِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَلَمَّا أَدْبَرَ قَالَ ‏"‏ وَأْمُرِ امْرَأَتَكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ تَحْتَهُ ثَوْبًا لاَ يَصِفُهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ رَوَاهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ فَقَالَ عَبَّاسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ‏.‏
