\n\n \nYahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Salim ibn\nAbdullah from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messengerof Allah, may Allah\nbless him and grant him peace, used to raise his hands to the level of\nhis shoulders when he began the prayer and when he raised his head\nfrom the ruku he raised them in the same way, saying, "Allah hears\nwhoever praises him, our Lord and praise belongs to You." He did not\nraise them in the sujud.\n\n

حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ رَفَعَهُمَا كَذَلِكَ أَيْضًا وَقَالَ ‏\n"‏ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَكَانَ لاَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ ‏.‏
