\n\n \nYahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az-\nZubayr from Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abd al-Qari that he heard Umar ibn al-\nKhattab say, while he was teaching people the tashahhud from the\nmimbar, "Say, Greetings belong to Allah. Pure actions belong to Allah.\nGood words and prayers belong to Allah. Peace on you, Prophet, and the\nmercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and on the slaves\nof Allah who are salihun. I testify that there is no god except Allah.\nAnd I testify that Muhammad is His slave and His messenger."\n\n\n'At-tahiyatu lillah, az-zakiyatu lillah, at-tayibatu wa's-salawatu\nlillah. As-salamu alayka ayyuha'nnabiyyu wa rahmatu'llahi wa\nbarakatuhu. As-salamu alayna wa ala ibadi'llahi s-salihin. Ash-hadu an\nla ilaha illa 'llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh."\n\n

\nحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ الْقَارِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يُعَلِّمُ النَّاسَ التَّشَهُّدَ يَقُولُ قُولُوا التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ الزَّاكِيَاتُ لِلَّهِ الطَّيِّبَاتُ الصَّلَوَاتُ لِلَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ‏.‏
