\n\n \nYahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Ibn Ukayma\nal-Laythi from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah\nbless him and grant him peace, finished a prayer in which he had\nrecited aloud and asked, "Did any of you recite with me just now?" One\nman said, "Yes, I did, Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah,\nmay Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "I was saying to\nmyself, 'Why am I distracted from the Qur'an?' " When the people heard\nthe Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say\nthat, they refrained from reciting with the Messenger of Allah, may\nAllah bless him and grant him peace, when he recited aloud.\n\n

\nوَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أُكَيْمَةَ اللَّيْثِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم انْصَرَفَ مِنْ صَلاَةٍ جَهَرَ فِيهَا بِالْقِرَاءَةِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ هَلْ قَرَأَ مَعِي مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ آنِفًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ نَعَمْ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إِنِّي أَقُولُ مَا لِي أُنَازَعُ الْقُرْآنَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَانْتَهَى النَّاسُ عَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِيمَا جَهَرَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِالْقِرَاءَةِ حِينَ سَمِعُوا ذَلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏
