If any shortcoming is found in the obligatory Salat, the Glorious and Exalted Rubb will command to see whether His slave has offered any voluntary Salat so that the obligatory Salat may be made up by it. Pharaon→ Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari:\n The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The superiority of `Aisha to other ladies is like the superiority of Tharid (i.e. meat and bread dish) to other meals. Many men reached the level of perfection, but no woman reached such a level except Mary, the daughter of `Imran and Asia, the wife of Pharaoh."\nBS152828

Narrated `Aisha:
When the pagans were defeated during the (first stage) of the battle of Uhud, Satan shouted, "O
Allah's slaves! Beware of what is behind you!" So the front files of the Muslims attacked their own
back files. Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman looked and on seeing his father he shouted: "My father! My
father!" By Allah! The people did not stop till they killed his father. Hudhaifa then said, "May Allah
forgive you." `Urwa (the sub-narrator) added, "Hudhaifa continued asking Allah forgiveness for the
killers of his father till he met Allah (till he died).

Narrated `Aisha:
The pagans were defeated on the day (of the battle) of Uhud. Satan shouted among the people on the
day of Uhud, "O Allah's worshippers! Beware of what is behind you!" So the front file of the army
attacked the back files (mistaking them for the enemy) till they killed Al-Yaman. Hudhaifa (bin Al-
Yaman) shouted, "My father!" My father! But they killed him. Hudhaifa said, "May Allah forgive
you." (The narrator added: Some of the defeated pagans fled till they reached Taif.)

Les sept lectures→\nNarrated `Umar bin Khattab:\n \n\nI heard Hisham bin Hakim bin Hizam reciting Surat-al-Furqan during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), \nand I listened to his recitation and noticed that he recited it in several ways which Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had \nnot taught me. So I was on the point of attacking him in the prayer, but I waited till he finished his \nprayer, and then I seized him by the collar and said, "Who taught you this Surah which I have heard \nyou reciting?" He replied, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) taught it to me." I said, "You are telling a lie; By Allah! \nAllah's Messenger (ﷺ) taught me (in a different way) this very Surah which I have heard you reciting." So I \ntook him, leading him to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I heard this person reciting \nSurat-al-Furqan in a way that you did not teach me, and you have taught me Surat-al-Furqan." The \nProphet said, "O Hisham, recite!" So he recited in the same way as I heard him recite it before. On \nthat Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "It was revealed to be recited in this way." Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, \n"Recite, O `Umar!" So I recited it as he had taught me. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then said, "It was revealed to \nbe recited in this way." Allah" Apostle added, "The Qur'an has been revealed to be recited in several \ndifferent ways, so recite of it that which is easier for you."\nBS165484

I heard Hisham b. Hakim (b. Hizam) reciting Surah al-Furqan in a different manner from my way of reciting, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had taught me to recite it. I nearly spoke sharply to him, but I delayed till he had finished. Then I caught his cloak at the neck, and I brought him to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). I said: Messenger of Allah, I heard this man reciting Surah al-Furqan in a manner different from that in which you taught me to recite it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) the told him to recite it. He then recited in the manner I heard him recite. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Thus was it sent down. He then said to me: Recite, I recited (it). He then said: Thus was it sent down. He said: The Qur'an was sent down in seven modes of reading, so recite according to what comes most easily.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az-
Zubayr that Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abd al-Qari said that he had heard Umar
ibn al-Khattab say, "I heard Hisham ibn Hakim ibn Hizam reciting Surat
al-Furqan (Sura 25) differently from me, and it was the Messenger of
Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who had recited it to
me. I was about to rush up to him but I granted him a respite until he
had finished his prayer. Then I grabbed him by his cloak and took him
to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
and said, 'Messenger of Allah, I heard this man reciting Surat al-
Furqan differently from the way you recited it to me.' The Messenger
of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Let him go.'
Then he said, 'Recite, Hisham,' and Hisham recited as I had heard him
recite. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, said, 'It was sent down like that.' Then he said to me,
'Recite' and I recited the sura, and he said, 'It was sent down like
that. This Qur'an was sent down in seven (different) ways, so recite
from it whatever is easy for you .' "

Al-moufasal→It was narrated from 'Abdullah that:
A man came to him and said: "Last night I recited Al-Mufassal in one rak'ah." He said: "That is like reciting poetry. But the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite similar surahs, twenty surahs from Al-Mufassal, those that start with Ha-Mim."
